Cheltenham Tips - Day 1

**These are my tips for 2008. Please view the 2009 Cheltenham Festival tips here**

Regular readers, and I mean people who visit the site every now and then rather than people who poo twice a day, will know that as well as being a cricket fan that I like to have the occasional flutter. Well tomorrow marks the beginning of the 4 day Cheltenham Festival so I thought I’d give you my tips.

I’m no racing pundit by any stretch of the imagination but I’ve had a bit of luck on the horses in my time so here are tomorrows Cheltenham Festival tips:

Supreme Novices Hurdle: Cork All Star @8/1
Irish Independent Arkle Trophy: Kruguyrova @11/1
Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle: Sizing Europe @2/1
William Hill Trophy: Abragante @10/1
BGC Cross Country Handicap Chase: Kilbeggan Blade @20/1
Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle: Prince Erik @9/1

Prices quoted are the current Totesport prices who, incidentally, are offering up to 100 of free bets during the festival week. Huzzah!

Are their any horses with cricketing-related names?

They’re usually the ones I back.

Not today but you’ve got both Warnes Way and Leg Spinner running in the Coral Cup tomorrow and Leg Spinner is probably my tip for that race :)

Ho hum…rather inauspicious start to the week. Mind you I did have a few quid each way on Kruguyrova @ 14/1 so I’m just about even.

Like the silly bugger that I am, I forgot to mention Katchit as a possible cricket related name. Would have been nice @ 10/1

Will hopefully come up with a couple of winners tomorrow.
