Workload Scuppered Flintoff Captaincy Bid

According to an article on the BBC News site, it wasn’t the Pedalogate incident that scuppered Freddies captaincy bid, it was fears over the increased workload.

“I think it’s the best decision for the team. The amount Freddie has to deal with - batting, bowling and fielding at slip - makes it a lot to ask of a guy to captain as well.”
Michael Vaughan - BBC Interview

Hmmm. Anyone else think this admission is 6 months too late?
