Lunch day three
Glad to see Athers didn’t get invited to Bothams birthday party. That’ll teach him for being rude to me in Wellington in 1998.

It’s two minutes into the Sky coverage and maybe the sleep deprived hysteria has kicked in but I’m chuckling away.
Sky open their coverage with David Gower interviewing Bill Lawry and David Lloyd. Put those two back to back and you’ve got a pickaxe!
Who are you calling Big Nose?
Shut it, conk face!
That’s cheered me up. We’re still going to take a spanking of the kind that you’d normally pay fifty quid for but what the heck…?
Balls. Gonna be a long eight hours. I’m not sure I can last but, then again, I’m not convinced the English batsmen will either…

Picture taken from The Spine.
In other related news, Heather Mills has asked for a plane as part of the divorce settlement.
And some sandpaper.
Oh come on, give me a break! I’ve only had about a dozen hours sleep in the last three days!

McGrath was happy
with his days work
Six sessions down and it has to be said that England are most certainly second best in all departments. The fifth session yesterday gave us a little bit of hope with the bowlers starting to do a little bit with the ball but overall we’ve been woefully..ermm..woeful so far.
One of the things that I’ve picked up on in the first two days is the return of the Aussie swagger. They’ve got that arrogant look about them which was missing in the 2005 series. The body language from England, however, is of a team that is currently going through the motions. It really is a throwback to Ashes tours of old.
I was disappointed this morning with a number of things but not least the Sky commentary team. Not once did they refer to Glenn McGraths bowling as metronomic. Come on guys! Basic schoolboy error. I don’t recall hearing them referring to Shane Warne and saying he could turn the ball on glass either. They really need to pull their fingers out if they’re going to make these crazy, sleep deprived nights worthwhile.
Incidentally, if Glenn McGrath had taken three in three, would it have been a geriatric?

That’s what the Shane Warne banner says. I knew he was old but I didn’t realise he was that old…
Looks like we’re in a spot of bother…
Very tired. Must sleep.
Mood not helped by receiving a load of bounced emails from my mailserver. Looks like some dirty spammer has sent out a load of emails with a false Flintoffs Ashes email address. If you’re visiting the site to complain because you got an email - it wasn’t from us!
Sleep.
